Of the 280 families in Purdu that sustained damages in the 2015 Nepal earthquakes, 81 families completely lost their homes. Tara Foundation provided earthquake relief for these villagers.

Before the monsoon season metal roofing material was purchased and distributed to 95 families to be used on temporary structures. This metal material was then to be repurposed as roofing on permanent homes. Construction on permanent housing began once the rains stopped.
