Recently Chhongba Sherpa stopped by the Shree Ringmu Teacher Hostel and sent us these photos of the completed project funded by the Tara Foundation USA.
April 2017 Mingmar Sherpa took the Tara Foundation to the top of Mount Everest with him. This is definitely the closest any of us will ever get to this peak. Aren’t the views amazing? So glad the Mingmar made it back safely. Thanks for all the photos!
In addition to large scale projects, Tara Foundation USA also funds many very small projects as well. Like this grist mill in the Taksindu District.
In November 2017, there was a ceremony to honor Tara Foundation USA for funding the Hewa Khola Micro Hydro Power Plant.
In November 2016 Denise was able to visit some of the bridges that were build as part of the 12 Bridges Project that was funded in part by Tara Foundation USA.
The Andheri Village power line project is complete. New metal poles have been installed for electrical power transmission lines.
The bulk of our efforts this past year have been geared towards clean drinking water projects in the Taksindu district of Nepal.
Phase 3 of the Belkha and Ludu Drinking Water Projects involves digging trenches, installing water pipe and wells. Each home was also provided with a stainless steel sink.
As 2016 draws to an end, so does the building of the Ringmu Village Primary School Teacher Hostel Project funded by Tara Foundation USA.
