Last year Tara Foundation USA funded a small teacher hostel at the Shree Ringmu Basic School. The Shree Ringmu teacher hostel gives the teachers somewhere to stay for the week while they teach instead of trekking back in forth from their homes each day. This affords the students more time with their teachers and longer lessons. This project was completed earlier this year. Chhongba stopped in to check on how it looked recently and sent us these photos.
Outside of the Shree Ringmu Teacher Hostel. It is a 1 ½ story stone and plaster structure with wood framing, a concrete floor and a tin roof.
Inside the teachers hostel the rooms are basic, but clean and comfortable.
There is room for several teachers to sleep in the teacher hostel.

A view from inside the teacher hostel, out into the school yard through the windows.
As you climb the stairs to the second floor you can see the vaulted ceiling. All of the walls are covered in wood paneling and they even have electricity!
The kitchen in the teacher hostel even has indoor running water and a sink. A novel concept in rural Nepal.
In the kitchen at the teacher hostel they have a propane fired cooking unit.
There is even running water on the second floor of the teacher hostel as well. A real luxury in these parts.
